The festive transformation

True to tradition, Printemps Haussmann has been adorned with dazzling lights. Each year, this iconic Parisian department store, built in 1865 at the corner of Boulevard Haussmann and Rue du Havre, outdoes  itself to enchant both young and old. This year is particularly special, marking the 100th anniversary of its animated displays (featuring automatons) and the 50th anniversary of its motorized moving displays (featuring marionettes on string). To celebrate, Printemps Haussmann has become the “Printemps Express,” a nod to the legendary luxury trains that once traversed Europe.

The holiday invitation is beautifully illustrated by Caroline Romain-Desfossés, an artist inspired in part by her childhood memories. From the bustling train platform to the attendants helping passengers, the warmth of the dining car, and the enchanting gift car, the “Printemps Express” evokes a whimsical world reminiscent of Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel.
