The festive transformation

True to tradition, Printemps Haussmann has been adorned with dazzling lights. Basketry for Women’s Empowerment

Founded in Marrakech by Nawal Rmili, YZA has transformed the basket into a chic, practical, and ethical handbag. Nawal, who began her career as a stylist at Vogue, Marie-Claire, and Grazia, was in search of a more equitable fashion. So, she decided to start her project in the outskirts of her native region. To achieve this, she collaborates with Berber women who continue their traditional  basketry: the doum palm. This art of patience has been passed down from mother to daughter for generations.

After the men harvest the palm leaves, they are gently dried in the sun and then braided by the women. For YZA, the artisans craft unique pieces that enrich the Vague collection and come in different colors and sizes. Each bag requires about 4 days of manual work. It then heads to the  leatherworking workshops where it is finished, always by hand, with premium quality leather.

In addition to being beautiful, unique, and eco-friendly, YZA bags embody profound values. Social justice and the advancement of women’s rights find true meaning in them. YZA is undoubtedly one of those Moroccan brands that we can only praise!

Ceramics to Rekindle the Flame

Dow, which means “light” in Arabic, is also the cute  name of a brand of ceramic candles made from 100% organic wax. Created by designer Hasna El Asri, Dow candles are much more than  decorative objects. Entirely made in Morocco, they are crafted with the assistance of a Moroccan chemical engineer and handcrafted by talented master ceramic artisans from Marrakech. With “Make a Wish” as their motto, the designer conceives her candles as symbols of hope, warmth, and spirituality.

Adorned with motifs inspired by nature and natural colors, they diffuse scents that evoke Morocco. Atlas cedar, orange blossom, sweet dates, and oud are among the natural fragrances available. Bolddie, the Sporty and Comfy Fashion

Kenza Adyel and Nasma Riah both have vastly different professional backgrounds but share a common passion for fashion and sports. One specializes in finance, while the other is a pro in organization and improving efficiency in business. On one hand, this trend aligns with an ecological approach by reducing waste. On the other hand, vintage is a fashion statement. Ikone Vintage

Ikone Vintage is an online luxury thrift store that offers lovely fashion gems at a very accessible price. Created by Iness Naciri (a serial bargain hunter and fashion enthusiast), this brand offers iconic pieces. To find her second-hand clothing, she travels to Paris every month and also visits vintage markets in Europe (Milan, London, Amsterdam). Nothing escapes her keen eye! The clothing is always spot-on with the current trends. Or you can find unique pieces to make a fashion statement, by mixing and matching trench coats, oversized blazers, kimonos, and more. At Ikone Vintage, you can also find rare luxury pieces from collections dating from the 1990s to 2000s.

Ruhu Huru

On Ruhu Huru, you will find carefully selected vintage pieces or items that have been refurbished. The creator of the e-shop, Tunu Kibelloh, a vintage fashion enthusiast and tireless thrift shopper, also sells her own line of clothing. This line consists of original pieces made in Morocco, handcrafted and inspired by the bohemian and retro style of the 1970s. You’ll find psychedelic prints and flower-patterned pants. To stay true to the spirit of sustainable and ethical fashion, all the clothes are made from surplus textile industry stock. As both an online thrift store and a brand, Ruhu Huru is one of the must-visit vintage stores in Morocco.

Ayam Zamane

Ayam Zamane is the only “physical” store in our selection of vintage spots in Morocco. Trailblazer Zineb Ismaili,the creator, started her vintage journey during the COVID-19 pandemic. After scouring the souks for rare pieces, she turned to clothing wholesalers based in Europe. Her first sale (held in her apartment) was a massive success. From then on, the Ayam Zamane phenomenon gained momentum, and followers surged. Today, she has her own store at Anfa Place Mall. You can truly find everything here at affordable prices: oversized trench coats, Austrian cardigans, evening dresses, Levis jeans, vintage caftans… as well as scarves, accessories, and jewelry. If you’re looking for retro eyewear (optical or sunglasses), La Lunetterie Vintage is one of the vintage spots in Morocco to know! Visiting Printemps Paris is not just about admiring grandiose decorations or shopping, but also about taking a break in the beating heart of the city. For example, Joey Starr is currently designing the menu for the Bleu Coupole restaurant located on the 6th floor of Printemps Femme. On the other side of the street, at Printemps Homme, designer Paul Smith is the guest of honor at Café Vert. For the occasion, he has transformed the space, taking inspiration from brutalist architecture, and decorated it with vintage furniture from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Traditional British dishes (English breakfast, club sandwich, pudding…) can be enjoyed there, served on tableware designed by artist Alec Doherty. And new concepts

As you may have understood, one year after the launch of its new branding, Printemps Paris continues to reinvent itself. Among the new additions, the temporary bookstore, organized by Gibert, has set up its shelves on the 7th floor of Printemps Homme until the end of September. You won’t be able to resist buying a novel, or another great book and then devouring it at the Bar Perché. Located on the same floor, it offers breathtaking views of the capital’s rooftops.

On the Printemps Femme side, we head to the Nuit Blanche space on the 6th floor, where we find the perfect outfit for our next Parisian night fever. We then browse through the Hors Paire department on the 5th floor to find the pair of “it” shoes to go with it. And we finish with La Box in the basement, an immersive space dedicated exclusively to accessories.
