2025 EYEWEAR TREND: THE FOUR MUST-HAVES FROM THE EDITORIAL TEAM

2025 EYEWEAR TREND: THE FOUR MUST-HAVES FROM THE EDITORIAL TEAM

Whether it’s sunglasses or prescription glasses, what’s the 2025 eyewear trend? If you’re wondering, the editorial team has the answers. Here’s a concise and directsummary of the stylish models catching our eye this winter.

What is the 2025 eyewear trend? To start with, wearing them! Sunglasses have (almost) always been considered stylish. But did you know that prescription glasses have also become synonymous with cool? It’s not just us noticing, but also Vogue. Whether on the catwalks (with Miu Miu as a pioneering brand since 2023/2024) or in the streets, eyeglasses and the intellectual-chic aesthetic are all the rage. Planning a laser eye surgery? Maybe hold off for a bit! And take a look at Shoelifer’s selection of sunglasses and prescription frames —we’ve taken pleasure in dissecting the 2025 eyewear trend just for you.

On the menu, there are quite a few similarities with the 2024 trend (let’s be honest). That is to say, a tendency for duality: XXL and minimalist frames, retro-vintage aesthetics, and designs with a more futuristic look. In short, as you might guess, the 2025 eyewear trend has something for everyone. Amid this abundance, there are still a few essentials! Here’s our selection, based on the most cutting-edge brands in the game. Let’s go!

Green is green! (and there’s hope)

Green is THE color of the 2025 eyewear trend. Khaki, bottle green, pine, avocado, olive—it comes in every shade (except the overly flashy ones). For sunglasses, we prefer green-tinted lenses (yes, really), like those from the famous and renowned Japanese brand Matsuda. Frameless glasses (a style that appeared around 1800) with almond-green tinted, oval, and slightly geometric lenses. All with very refined engraved titanium temples. Bold and stylish!

Model M3105, Matsuda, around 6,800 DH.

For prescription glasses, also from Matsuda, we favor the M1029 model. A balanced mix of playful spirit and classic elegance that softens the angles!

Warm browns!

For the 2025 trend, any frame goes as long as it’s in warm, autumnal shades. At Selima Optique, we go for very sixties, “new wave” inspired sunglasses in a tortoiseshell pattern (also trending for nails). The must-have? Brown-orange tinted lenses, particularly elegant. This model is also available for eyeglasses.

Cat-eye style

Having cat eyes is also part of the 2025 eyewear trend. Yes, we’re talking about cat-eye frames—a vintage eyewear style, not the fox-eye cosmetic surgery. At Gentle Monster, the trendy and high-tech Korean brand beloved by several designers (Marine Serre, Ambush…), we’re smitten with the Terra Cotta PC7 model, 100% pink-orange, part girly, part Jackie Kennedy.

For prescription glasses, we love the Cat-Eye Glasses model from Chanel. Indeed, the frame elongates the gaze while offering a more square and maximalist design. Another plus? The six color options offered by the luxury brand, including dark red, dark green, tortoiseshell, and brown.

Back to the future

Futuristic design is at the heart of the 2025 eyewear trend. In this category, Prada takes the prize. Among its standout models: the Prada Runway sunglasses. The top frame is curved in a cat-eye style, creating a sophisticated makeup-like effect, while the lenses have a stunning lavender tint.

In the same vein but slightly more classic, our editorial team has a soft spot for the butterfly sunglasses, with an XXL tortoiseshell frame but lavender-colored lenses. A daring yet highly successful mix.

Sunglasses with Prada Logo, around 3,600 DH.

For eyeglasses, we lean towards the Ray-Ban Clubmaster model. A square design with a gold metal frame, topped with a transparent plastic upper frame. A recycled plastic, by the way, which is important to note, since those who wear glasses daily tend to favor sustainability—without sacrificing style and originality!
