RAMADAN TABLEWARE: OUR 6 FAVORITES

Ramadan Tableware

It’s only 10 days before ftour season officially starts.  The most organized ones have already thought about their Ramadan tableware. If you haven’t done so yet, here’s the editor’s selection. Beldi, classic, or contemporary… get your soup bowls  ready!

Ramadan means ftours with friends or family, and ftour means… a little shopping spree in the Ramadan tableware section, of course! So, what’s new? Remember, we recently talked about the trends spotted at the Parisian Maison & Objet fair. This year, the trend is towards bright colors, organic patterns, and more than ever, vintage. Or, judging by the big comeback of majolica, even kitsch. What’s that? You know, those old clay grandma’s plates with highly textured reliefs, shaped like cabbage leaves and other fish or vegetables. Still haven’t found the most beautiful plates for ftour? Keep cool and eat your harira; we’ve found the  6 perfect spots for you!

Moroccan Pastels

Established in 2013, the hallmark of Chabi Chic is  “made in & inspired by Morocco”.. Their 2024 Ramadan tableware? Mix and match! You can pick from various collections to customize your own mix of plates, bowls, and other dishes. For the occasion, the permanent collection “Empreinte” has been revisited in white, Sahara, and khaki color ranges. The “Fassia” collection, on the other hand, has been reimagined in straw tones. The overall look is understated. Traditional patterns are enhanced with solid colors, all topped with gold touches.

 Chic Graphics

At Rouge Ivoire, Ramadan tableware takes a detour through the 1920s. The store proposes you set your tables with the new “Art Deco” service by Spal Porcelanas. Resolutely graphic and elegant, the collection includes plates of various sizes, presentation dishes, cups, saucers, and bowls, all in contrasts of  black, white, and gold that can blend into any style of decor. On a white, black, or burgundy tablecloth, your table will take on a special allure at sunset.

Style at a Nice Price

Over the past few years, Alpha 55 has emerged as one of the go-to destinations for tableware. The store offers different table setups: ikat print porcelain, botanical-patterned tables, both baroque, or organic ambiance. You can choose a collection or mix a particular pattern with solid dishes. Also, take a look at the lines of tea and juice glasses, as well as silver or gold-plated stainless steel cutlery sets. The numerous variations are diverse enough for everyone to find their perfect table setting. Additionally, note that attractive discounts are applied to several products.

 For Silverware

Did you know that Fenêtre Sur Cour is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year? Proof that when it comes to tableware, the store has become a standard  in Morocco. This year, it chose to highlight “Babylone,” the new collection by Christofle. Imagined with Mademoiselle Aurélie Bidermann, the tableware pieces from this collaboration showcase a woven motif inspired by straw, which has also been the hallmark of the jewelry designer’s success. Resolutely contemporary, the collection includes plates, bowls, cups, and napkin rings. Matte white porcelain is topped with brilliant silver metal. The contrast is striking, guaranteeing an impressive effect on your ftour tables!

 For Art’s Sake

At Nuances Maison, for this Ramadan, it’s the “L’Archipel Sentimental” collection that caught our attention. Made of Gien earthenware, it stems from a collaboration between the artisanal factory and designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. It includes sets of plates, cake and pastry dishes, as well as matching placemats. The pop art motifs in blue, yellow, and red, conceived by the designer, will bring a vibrant touch to your Ramadan tableware. It’s a refreshing change!

Ethnic Inspiration

Casatribana is the Moroccan brand that reinterprets craftsmanship by infusing it with tribal notes and bohemian influences. A subtle fusion of materials, colors, and patterns, the brand’s collections have a recognizable graphic signature. To honor the authenticity of this sacred month, we opt for the line of Zigzag black plates, bowls, and dishes. Casatribana suggests setting them on Kiria Dotted Lines Green placemats and accompanying them with khaki green linen napkins. We love it! We might even be tempted by the shell napkin rings!
