FENÊTRE SUR COUR: A DEEP DIVE INTO CASSINA’S ICONIC UNIVERSE

FENÊTRE SUR COUR: A DEEP DIVE INTO CASSINA’S ICONIC UNIVERSE

A benchmark of Italian designer furniture, Cassina recently celebrated the 60th anniversary of one of its most iconic collections at Fenêtre sur Cour. We had the pleasure of discovering the high-demand limited editions released for the occasion. Here’s everything you need to know.

Like many residents of Casablanca and Rabat, Fenêtre sur Cour is undoubtedly one of your go-to destinationswhen it comes to interior décor and tableware. What you may know less is that for the past ten years, the brand has also been cultivating a strong and distinctive vision of furniture and lighting. Its signature? A refined approach where avant-garde, culture and modernity intersect.

And this decade of activity resonates in a particularly meaningful way today. Fenêtre sur Cour is reaffirming its exclusive partnership with Cassina in Morocco at the very moment the Italian design house celebrates the 60th anniversary of the legendary Le Corbusier®, Pierre Jeanneret® and Charlotte Perriand® Collection. It’s the perfect opportunity to revisit its history and its visionary ambition: industrialising designer pieces without ever compromising their soul.

An avant-garde and timeless design house

Nearly a century old, the company was founded in Lombardy by two brothers from a lineage of furniture craftsmen. It quickly established itself as a major player in the design world. As early as the 1950s, Cassina distinguished itself as a pioneer by transitioning from artisanal craftsmanship to serial production. Its ambition? To guarantee outstanding manufacturing quality while exploring new materials and innovative processes.

From the very beginning, Cassina also stood out for its support of avant-garde creators. Several collaborations with leading figures in design and architecture have since become emblematic, starting with Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, but also Gerrit Rietveld, Franco Albini and Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Building on its visionary heritage, Cassina continues to foster bold collaborations with some of the most influential designers of their generation, including Patricia Urquiola, Piero Lissoni, Philippe Starck and Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. Each year, the brand captures all eyes in Milan during the Salone del Mobile with the presentation of its latest creations. Over time, The Cassina Perspectives has become a must-attend event, renowned for its theatrical and immersive scenography.

A revolutionary collection

Sixty years ago, Cassina made waves in the design world by launching the industrial production of four pieces conceived  by the modernist trio Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. At the time, they had already left a profound mark on the creative sphere with their radically innovative vision of living spaces. Crafted by hand, their furniture was first unveiled to the public in 1929 through the manifesto installation “L’Équipement intérieur d’une habitation” at the Salon d’Automne in Paris. Yet these design icons might never have achieved such global recognition without Cassina’s decisive role. Serial production, commercial success and the brand’s international reach largely contributed to their establishment.

This year, the 60th anniversary of this visionary collaboration was celebrated through the release of original reinterpretations, developed in collaboration with the Fondation Le Corbusier and the heirs of the co-authors. Integrated into The Cassina Perspective 2025, this anniversary launch was elevated in Milan by Staging Modernity, a theatrical performance by Italian duo Formafantasma. Through an immersive installation and a didactic journey, visitors were invited to explore the history and evolution of the Le Corbusier®, Pierre Jeanneret®, Charlotte Perriand® Collection, while also rethinking the idealised concept of modernism.

Limited editions, now closer to home…

More concretely, until September 2026, Fenêtre sur Cour offers access to the limited editions of the four original models from the Le Corbusier®, Pierre Jeanneret®, Charlotte Perriand® Collection: Fauteuil dossier basculant, Fauteuil Grand Confort, petit modèle,
Fauteuil Grand Confort, grand modèle, Chaise longue à réglage continu.
The ultimate highlight of this special edition? Color. For the occasion, three new variants have been introduced, combining red, blue or green frames with matching tone-on-tone upholstery.

In terms of materials, the glossy structures are paired with mohair velvet for the armchairs, and self-supporting saddle leather for the chaise longue and the reclining-back armchair. It’s ideal for those looking to introduce a luminous modern touch into their interiors—above all, a design   that makes a statement,  where form and function achieve perfect balance. It’sorth noting as well that  these pieces belong to the brand’s “sustainable” series, produced using circular materials with a strong focus on durability.

Last but not least, The Cassina Perspective 2025 also paid a special tribute to Charlotte Perriand, with two new editions never before produced in series: the Doron Console and the Free-Form Coffee Table. Cassina’s teams undertook extensive research based on the designer’s original studies of organic forms—an approach for which she is renowned, particularly in the creation of ergonomic and modular living spaces.
